History

Parasail Australia was originally owned by Parachutes Australia, the manufacturer of Australia’s military parachutes. They first designed their own parasail in the early eighties. After trying many different designs, it was decided that the 20 gore parasail performed the best.

The Birds have owned and run a commercial Parasailing operation, Sydney Harbour Parasailing for nearly 20 years and have flown most brands of parasails. They preferred the Parasail Australia product (locally known as the "PA Chute") and made many suggestions for improvements which were mostly adopted the manufacturer. In 1998 they took over the manufacturing of the parasails, which had become a specialised business. They coninued to run their parasailing Operation and also kept on the original machinists. BPA made many modifications to the design and structure of the sails for performance and reliability and now is happy to claim that they will out-perform any other parasail on the market if used within the conditions in the suitability guide and in accordance with the Operations Manual.
